What does success sound like?
In Memphis, it has a sound of its own. From W.C. Handy to B.B. King, from Elvis Presley to Justin Timberlake, our city has long been home to musical innovators. So too has Memphis long been fertile ground for innovative business ideas – from Holiday Inn to Federal Express, from Piggly Wiggly grocery stores to Auto Zone. And both traditions continue today.
The Greater Memphis Chamber created The Soundtrack Project in the same spirit – as a way to bring our traditions of musical excellence and creative commerce together for everyone to celebrate.
The project partners composers from the Memphis Symphony Orchestra with Memphis small business owners selected for their unique stories and enthusiasm for our city.
To derive their inspiration, symphony composers visited with each business owner to learn, quite literally, the rhythms of their day and the story behind their business. Local photojournalist Lance Murphey joined with our communications team to help craft complementary visual storylines.
The result: uniquely Memphis presentations of what makes our city a great place to live, work and create.
The Chamber exists to make Memphis a better place. We invite you to join us in our work.
